Hello and thanks for stopping by!
It has taken me 10 years in business to finally post an About Me page. WHY? Like many moms, I prefer to be behind the camera rather than in front of it. I finally thought it was time to practice what I preach, so here I am and here’s my story:)
I am the proud owner of Tracey Cunningham Photography. I am so excited that you found my page and are considering me to capture precious memories of your family. I am a wife and a mom to two amazing kids – Jack (19) and Emma (18). I went to college for Elementary Education and spent a few years teaching before I became a stay-at-home mom. Always having a creative itch – during the day when my kids napped and at night when they went to bed – instead of relaxing, I ran a business called Emmilu Embroidery. I embroidered adorable personalized baby burp cloths + onesies, personalized stationery and some other fun goodies. It was great and fun but, it came time to do something more!
MY PHOTOGRAPHY JOURNEY
My photography journey goes back to age 11 when I received my first Kodak Disc – remember those??? I always had a camera with me and loved capturing fun times with family and friends. Fast forward to 2001 when my son was born. It was then, like all new moms, that I wanted to capture every. single. moment. Those moments go by so fast! I know firsthand – I have a senior and a college freshman!
Years later, as my babies got older and I found a little more ‘me’ time (it does happen moms:) – I dove into photography head first and Tracey Cunningham Photography was born in 2010!
I am a self taught natural light and studio photographer. I have spent countless hours taking online courses and have mentored with one of the best newborn photographers in the country. For many years I captured newborns in their first few weeks but, in 2021 I decided to head in another direction and just focus on beach photography – my favorite!
I have learned through the years that there is so much more to running a photography business than just taking pictures. I wouldn’t change it for anything and love that I have had clients with me from the beginning that I now call friends. I love watching your families grow from year to year and and seeing you each summer. Thank you for choosing me to capture your ‘moments in time’ and I look forward to all the new families I will meet in the years to come.
